4th May 2009 Mt. Biking: machynlleth Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Dyfi enduro day, and great sun as well, to much sun maybe!Every thing went well, slippery down hills and big climbs, but all good, was managing to pass loads of people ont eh up hills, and was somewhere around the 300 position according to watchers. ( fair play to Al, who made it into the first 200 at the punishment route stage, and had to do a extra climb)! was nakerd at 25 miles, but at 30 miles started to get a reaL BUZZ as I knew I didnt have far to go, and knew the route, but then at 31 miles, I broke my rear mech hanger, GUTTED! Tried setting it up single speed, but it just wouldnt work, so at 4 hours and 31 miles, I had to pull out of the event. At least I know Id have made my hoped time of 4.5 hours, but spewing I didnt cross the line. Even more gutted that Im going to have to do it again now, just to finish it!! Would have been a pefecst session if it wasnt for "you know what"! |
